Vascular surgery team at NOVOMED CLINIC Constanța
At NOVOMED CLINIC Constanța, vascular surgery consultations are with Dr. Radu Nițu and Dr. Mădălina Corici, senior specialists in vascular surgery. Consultations are by appointment, with no referral needed, and Doppler ultrasound of the legs is done at the clinic.
What does a vascular surgery consultation involve?
A vascular surgery consultation starts with a detailed review of your medical history and current symptoms. The doctor will also do a careful physical examination and, if needed, may recommend further tests such as Doppler ultrasound, angiography or other imaging tests. The aim is to reach an accurate diagnosis and then recommend a treatment plan adapted to your individual needs.
When do you need a vascular surgery consultation?
A vascular surgery consultation may be recommended when you notice symptoms such as:
- pain or discomfort in the legs
- unusual swelling of the limbs
- varicose veins or dilated veins
- sores or wounds on the legs that do not heal
- numbness or tingling in the limbs
- a family history of vascular disease (a risk factor for vascular problems)
It is important not to ignore your body’s signals: early diagnosis and treatment can prevent serious complications and can considerably improve quality of life.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral?
No. Consultations are by appointment and paid privately. The clinic has no contract with the national health insurance fund (CNAS), so a referral cannot be used to cover the cost.
How much does it cost?
A vascular surgery consultation costs 400 lei. A consultation with Doppler ultrasound costs 600 lei for one leg and 800 lei for both legs. The full list is on the prices page.
What is a Doppler ultrasound?
It is a painless ultrasound test, with no radiation, that shows how blood flows through the veins and arteries. It helps the doctor see, for example, whether the vein valves close properly, or whether there are clots or narrowed arteries.
How do I prepare?
For a Doppler ultrasound of the legs, no special preparation is usually needed. It is best to wear clothes that are easy to take off and to bring your test results, the results of previous investigations and a list of the medicines you take.
Do you treat varicose veins?
The clinic offers vascular surgery and phlebology consultations, Doppler ultrasound and sclerotherapy (900 lei for one vial, 1,100 lei for two vials, consultation included). The doctor recommends the right treatment after the consultation.
Who sees me?
Dr. Mădălina Corici and Dr. Radu Nițu, senior specialists in vascular surgery.

On WhatsApp at +40 724 007 799 (we reply in English) or by phone at +40 724 007 799 (in Romanian), daily, 07:00-23:00.
