• osteoarthritis (knee, hip, hands, spine) and other degenerative rheumatic conditions

• carpal tunnel syndrome and other peripheral nerve compressions
• muscle contractures, chronic muscle pain and reduced mobility
Physical rehabilitation team at NOVOMED CLINIC Constanța
At NOVOMED CLINIC Constanța, physical rehabilitation consultations are with Dr. Ana-Maria Teodorescu, specialist in physical and rehabilitation medicine, by appointment, with no referral needed. During the consultation the doctor can perform a musculoskeletal ultrasound on the spot, which shows the joints, tendons and muscles, with no radiation.
What does a physical rehabilitation consultation involve?
The consultation starts with a detailed history: when the pain started, what makes it worse, which treatments you have tried, your physical and work activity. The doctor will carry out:
• a clinical examination of the spine, joints and muscles (mobility, strength, specific tests)
• a musculoskeletal ultrasound of the painful area, when needed
• a review of the tests you already have (X-rays, MRI, blood tests)
• the treatment plan: medication, physiotherapy and exercise therapy recommendations, home exercises, braces if needed
The rehabilitation doctor at NOVOMED CLINIC Constanța makes the diagnosis and sets the recovery plan, and at the follow-up visit checks your progress and adjusts the treatment.
When do you need a physical rehabilitation consultation?
A consultation may be needed if you have one or more of the following:
• back or neck pain lasting more than 2-3 weeks or coming back often
• pain, swelling or stiffness in the knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist or ankle
• pain on movement or limited movement that affects your daily activities
• numbness or tingling in the hands or feet
• a sprain, a fracture or orthopedic surgery after which you need rehabilitation
It is important to see a rehabilitation doctor before the pain becomes chronic and limits your movement. At NOVOMED CLINIC Constanța, your mobility and health are our priority. Don’t delay seeing a doctor, to prevent complications and get back to your activities as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you for appointments and information.
