General surgery team at NOVOMED CLINIC Constanța
At NOVOMED CLINIC Constanța, general surgery consultations are with Dr. Andrei Chelaru, senior specialist in general surgery, certified in general ultrasound. Minor surgery is done at the clinic, under local anesthesia, after a consultation.
What does a general surgery consultation involve?
A general surgery consultation starts with your medical history and an overall assessment of your health. The surgeon will ask about:
- your full medical history
- your symptoms
- a physical examination of the affected area
- any further tests needed and the interpretation of the results
- At NOVOMED CLINIC Constanța, the surgeon makes the diagnosis and recommends the right treatment plan. There are several surgical techniques: open (classic) surgery or minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and robotic surgery).
When do you need a general surgery consultation?
You may need a general surgery consultation if you have one or more of the following signs or symptoms:
- persistent or sudden abdominal pain
- hard lumps or swellings
- rectal bleeding
- injuries or trauma
- severe or recurrent digestive symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting or changes in bowel habits
A general surgery consultation may be needed when a condition that may require surgery is suspected, such as appendicitis, a hernia or cholecystitis.
At NOVOMED CLINIC Constanța, your health is our priority. It is important not to delay seeing a doctor, to reduce the risk of complications or of the condition getting worse. Feel free to contact us.
